What is involved, where do I start?

Write down the essential objectives of what you want to achieve, here is a suggested list to start with...

•  The financial limits of what you are prepared to spend.

•  The time scale you want your project to follow.

•  The end result, what you want in your hands, at the end of the project.

•  Are there any legal issues involved such as patents etc?

•  What am I going to do with it once it is finished?

The more thought and effort that you put into your list items the more likely it is that you will save time, expense and maintain a realistic outlook as the project unfolds.

As always, do your homework. The internet search engines can bring you up to date on most things, use them to find answers to any questions that your list of objectives create as you think about them

Once you have finished refining and honing your objectives, spend some time searching for patents that appear relevant to your project, if you find something then contact a patent attorney for advice, spending a few hundred dollars could save you thousands later.
